College Admission Procedure to Btech with Course Fee

Bachelor of Technology or B. Tech is a professional Engineering programme and can be studied after completion of plus two.

Usually, the courses offered under B.Tech are regulated by the University Grants Commission and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

From Electrical Engineering to Civil Engineering, you can pursue B. Tech in many disciplines of engineering studies.

Here’s is what you need to know before opting for B. Tech:

1. The prerequisite of B. Tech is that you need to complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM subjects). You need to pass your 10+2 exams with at least 50%-60% marks from a recognized board.
After that, you can prepare and sit for entrance exams. There are many private Engineering colleges who organize their own entrance examinations for admitting students. You can sit for any of them.

Or, you can even pursue diploma if you have completed your 10th in Science. After completing your diploma (which is a 3 years full-time course) you can get a lateral entry in a B. Tech college through the JELET examination.

2. Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) is a four-year degree programme. The main aim of the course is to help the students gain both practical and theoretical knowledge of the chosen subject. It also aims to sharpen the engineering skills of the students. You can pursue B. Tech in Electronics and Communication, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Bio Technology, and Computer Science and IT.

3. If you wish to study at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), regarded as the topmost engineering institutes, you have to clear the JEE (Main) exams. This exam is conducted by CBSE. If you clear this exam and if you are among the top 1,50,000 scorers, then you are eligible for taking the JEE Advanced exam conducted by the IITs.

4. If you are keen to apply in the NITs, you have to qualify the JEE (Main) exams. Admission to the NITs is done on the basis of your rank in the JEE (Main) examination.

5. Apart from the IITs and the NITs, BITS Pilani is also considered a premium institute for engineering studies. For gaining admission, you have to clear the BITSAT. Candidates who have secured at least 75% marks in 10+2 examination (with PCM) are eligible to take the exam. In case you are a board or state topper, then you can apply directly. For Board or State toppers, admission is done on the basis of merit while for others it’s done on the basis of BITSAT score.

After completing your B. Tech degree, you can either opt for higher studies and pursue an M. Tech degree or apply for placement. Many students opt for MBA after B.Tech for widening their career scope. You may try for government jobs or find employment within the private sector. Government of India recruit engineers through IES examinations (Indian Engineering Services) conducted by UPSC
